Kadenza \k(a)-den-za, kad(e)-nza\ as a girl's name is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Kadenza is "with rhythm".
I went to tea with my family and my brother's girlfriend; I withheld all of my vitriol in front of her. I went shopping with my mother; I did not try to strangle her. I even had a nice and calm dinner with my family and my brother's girlfriend; to add to that, I was considerate enough to try to make small talk.
So, I reserve all right to post about nail polish and not have anyone bitch about it as I imagine all my non-existent readers do. Also, it's late and I really don't want to write diddly-squat.
Instead of new manicures, I will be showcasing some new nail polishes that came into my possession. A guest, whom we're assuming to be a manicurist for a wedding party or something like that, left a number of bottles of nail polish, and since she (or he) never came back for them, my mother took it home for me. Unfortunately, most of them are in the red category, which is not my color.
There is, however, one special polish. A special polish that costs twenty-five dollars a bottle.
Yes, a Chanel nail polish.
This is Chanel LE VERNIS Nail Color 453 "Magnolia Rose" in three coats and top coat. It is a light pink creme with tiny silver shimmer interspersed through the polish.
The formula is light and fluid, and the color builds up well enough, considering the color. The tiny silver shimmer is evident in the bottle, but it's nowhere near as visible on the nail. It's a pretty color and conservative, so there's really no occasion that you can't wear it to. On the other hand, I don't think it would be too hard for someone to franken their own version of Chanel "Magnolia Rose." I wouldn't pay twenty-five dollars for a nail polish I can franken myself. With that said, though, I'm going to hide this polish in the back of a drawer and only use it for special occasions. It's not everyday that you get a free Chanel nail polish.
Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to dream about marrying a man with Alan Rickman's voice.
