Orela \o-re-la\ as a girl's name is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Orela is "announcement from the gods".
Okay, I was originally intending for the next entry to be something substantial, but I watched the new "Hanazakari Kimitachi e 2011," so it was hell with that plan.
Considering that the original drama aired in 2007, I was wondering why they would ever try and reboot the series with a whole new cast just four years later. The 2007 version was excellent, and they had a great cast with Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun, Mizushima Hiro, and best of all, Shirota Yuu.
I was skeptical about this new 2011 version, but I tried it anyway. Unfortunately, I was right to be skeptical. I'm not particularly excited by the casting. I am most disappointed in the guy playing Sano. He doesn't do tsun very well; he's more standoffish and awkward than aloof and attractive as Oguri Shuri was. As for the actress playing the lead character of Ashiya Mizuki, I am ambivalent. The fact that Maeda Atsuko is a member of AKB48 does not endear me to her. In fact, it does the opposite. However, so far, her acting was convinced me to stick with it and give her a shot. For fans of the original like myself, it will be tough going for her, because she will be compared to her predecessor, Horikita Maki. I find Horikita Maki more believable crossdressing than Maeda Atsuko, as the latter simply looks too girlish. (I think it's her eyes--they're just too perfect to be a dude.)
One of the good things is that there are some original elements compared to the 2007 version. Had it been an exact replica of the 2007 version, I would have given it up without a qualm. At the moment, though, it seems to be going alright, so I'll stick with it for now.
Nonetheless, the real reason why I'm watching "HanaKimi 2011" is this.
Saitou Takumi is in it.
Saitou Takumi is playing Umeda Hokuto, the gay doctor who is all important to the series.
He doesn't have much of a role in the first episode so far, except to act as a foreshadow for the following episodes.
His predecessor in the 2007 version was an excellent actor and filled the role wonderfully. However, I prefer Saitou Takumi's casting much more, because he is a lovely piece of eye candy.
Oh, doctor. Please marry me. I love you. I love you. I love you. Take me how ever you'd like.
Besides Saitou Takumi (whom I'd like to boink silly), there is also Kiriyama Renn as Nanba Minami-sen'pai. He's also eye candy, but just not as much as Saitou Takumi.
Kiriyama Renn doesn't have that immediate attractive charisma that Mizushima Hiro just gives off automatically, but he's not bad.
All in all, this really wasn't an entry, but more of a fangirl ramble about how much I love Saitou Takumi. Please take me. So, I hope no one read this in hopes of trying to finding something substantial.
