Boat building.

So, I spent some of my boat money on another boat.

Except this one is this RC kit of a boat, which, although fourteen feet smaller, is exponentially more complicated than the O.J. could have been even if it tried.  There are multiple servos and switches which supplant an actual person, and I'm finding this to be quite a challenge, as I don't know much about electrical theory.  I'm learning though.  The funny thing is, despite all of this apparatus, the boat is still sail powered.  All the servos do is turn the rudder or move the mainsail boom...neither piece actually having a propulsion component to them.

Whatever.  I'll figure it out.  It's not rocket science, and I am a genius, despite the fact that these directions are in Norwegian.  (No worries, I don't speak Norwegian, but again, I'm good at figuring stuff out.)  I haven't cut, shocked, broken, or otherwise harmed myself, and people keep stopping on the sidewalk to see what it is that I'm doing in my garage.  Despite the fact that it's a smaller boat, it's still pretty darn big.  It will stand only a foot shorter than I do once done, and it's about four and a half feet long.  Fun!  Look out, geese....

Regardless of worthless directions, Project Juice Deuce has commenced in the garage, and I'm happy I guess.  I built the cradle and attached the keel this afternoon after I worked all morning at the Greentree and did my obligatory study time at the library.

...beats the hell out of trying to relearn Arabic in a month.  Seriously.  Still miss the big boat though.  Worked on mitigating the, "big issue" surrounding the big boat yesterday but chickened out.  Going to try to work up the nerve tonight.  Maybe a few vodka tonics into the Cubs game...yeah, that's a plan.

garage time, sailing, rc, happiness.
