Half Blood Prince

If you haven't read the new Harry Potter yet, then read no farther.

The book was good, there's no denying that. Yes, my favorite character died, but that was expected. How was Harry supposed to shine with great and mighty Dumbledore standing over him? It's the same reason Lucas had to kill off Obi-Wan in the first (made) movie. I do hope that Albus will either come back to life (as Aslan and Gandalf did) or appear ghost-like again (Obi-Wan ish). But if not, I'll understand.

What can we say about Snape? I think that he had to do it. I don't think he wanted to do it, hence the look of revulsion on his face as he said, "avra kadava" or whatever the abra-cadabra knock-off it is. He and Dumbledore shared a look just before the murder. Albus said , "Severus.... please..." and they looked at one another. Both were skilled legimens, so I think that Albus told him to do it. Besides, it had to be Harry to take out Voldemort, according to the prophecy. Dumbledore could have helped with the Horcruxes, but he's not necessary for it. I think he'll be given a chance for redemption in the last book. I hope so.

I really like this series. I can't wait to read the next book. My favorite book is the fourth, I have to say. I like the Wealey twins, but I'm not sure if they're my favorites or not.
