Cheap Snakes

With the addition of my BIG aquarium, I am now in the process of deciding what other animals to get for my class for next year. At Maysville, I found my answer, or so I thought. They had a Jr. Ball Python on sale for $25 (normally around $50-$60). It just so happens that my aide gave me a 30-gallon aquarium set up for reptiles (her daughter's iguana died). I thought this was a sign (Thanks God!) that I should have a snake. Yet, I didn't buy it. I knew that first I'd have to convince my other aide (who is deathly afraid of nature).

With that thought in mind, I came in Monday all excited and I told her what a great deal I had found. With a calm voice (but bugged-out eyes), she informed me that if I were to bring that snake in here, then I would be hung from the flagpole and shot until dead. And no amount of coaxing would change her mind. Also, I was informed by our principal that we can't have reptiles (so no iguanas either) for a class pet because they are prone to salmonella and the like if handled.

But I still may get the snake for home. Not sure yet. I think it'd be cool.
