Life After Testing

May 02, 2005 08:44

What to teach, what to teach? Since all year is basically getting ready for testing, what does one teach for the month afterwards? All our curriculum maps say is "teacher's choice". Well, my first choice is watch movies and burn the hours down. I don't think that would go over very well.

My solution is to have one good experiment a week, on Thursday (which is a long day and the last day of the week that I have all the classes). The three days before that will be spent preparing for the experiment. The day afterward will be a follow-up for the classes I have.

This week's experiments feature: exploding bottles (actually just popping corks out of them with yeast), disintegrating rocks, and clouds in a jar.
