The World Ends Now

Mun Note - this takes place 10 years before the first season of Babylon 5.

We don’t stand a snowball’s chance in Hell. We are sitting here, floating in orbit around home, about to commence a suicide mission. They’ve told us the Minbari are on the way. We already know we can’t track them with our instruments - whatever technology they have, it makes them totally invisible to our sensors. They’re going to kill us all - they have shown nothing of human compassion or mercy in their relentless march across the vastness of space. They will swat this pitiful Line around Earth with less effort than I would take to kill a fly. And then they will do their best to kill off an entire planet full of people - my people.

I’m glad I won’t be around to see that.

And the worst of it is, we don’t know why. Our first encounter with them was disastrous - they just attacked a group of our ships without warning, and of course, we defended ourselves. Whether that was the right thing to do or not is a moot point, I suppose. We’re here now, and they are out there somewhere, and they have made it clear that we are vermin to be exterminated. All attempts at negotiation and even appeasement have gone unwanted or unnoticed. They must be bloodthirsty bastards.
