Annoying Freshmen
Why on earth do my students insist on torturing me by turning in work that isn't their own? I waste so much time trying to track down plagiarizers that grading takes forever. I'm convinced one student bought his paper online (and it still isn't that good) but I can't prove it. And now, a C-student is turning in a paper that sounds like it was written by a graduate student. A dumber-than-average and not-good-with-research graduate student, but definitely someone far above her abilities. Have tried to Google some lines with no luck, but this paper is definitely not hers.
My sister, who bought every single one of the papers she turned in this semester, thinks I'm overly harsh on plagiarizers and should just give them credit for trying. Makes me quite bitter, since she's in her seventh year of undergrad, isn't even a senior yet, and our parents have paid for every penny of her education. Whereas I didn't get any money at all.
