I'm currently putting together my syllabus for the second half of the semester, when I'll be teaching Ariel Levy's Female Chauvinist Pigs to my freshman composition class. I'm looking for a film to show that goes along with it, and I honestly can't think of anything. I've been thinking about this for two months already, and am no closer to deciding.

We're going to talk about feminism, pop culture, youth culture, etc. Specifically, we'll be focusing on whether feminism today means that girls can take off more clothes, or feel free to participate in their own oppression, like in Girls Gone Wild. So I'm looking for a film, preferably fiction, that deals with some of these issues. I've been thinking about Thirteen but it's only vaguely related. Really, my ideal movie would talk about or deal with the portrayals of girls or young women in modern media, and how that influences the everyday lives of girls.

Even reading back over my post, I'm concerned that such a movie doesn't exist, or I would have seen it!
