EDITH 7/18: Stalled out for another day or so. Means more time for planning, and getting things set straight. I'm getting enough time to properly work things out, it seems. If you want to send me your contact info or anything, let me know at superfighterg@yahoo.com . I may be able to stop by if it's in my range of travel, if you don't mind if i gank a shower, a load of laundry, and/or some Peanut Butter and crackers.
Luckily, since they have to wait until the banks open to get the money so my brother can leave, i have an extra day or two to plan, pack, and say a parting word.
Okay, the plan so far is to get to warmer climes ASAP. Which if i'm travelling by bike, should mean i'll get well into the southern half of America by Early Fall. Currently, my plan involves me shooting from Des Moines to Near Denver (on the path of least resistance, so as soon as i hit mountain i'm taking a flatland detour) to avoid Missouri and Kansas altogether. By my conservative estimates it should take about a month or so (675 miles/30-40 miles a day average = about a month). From there, i'll be heading south, probably to a decent highway hub in
New Mexico. I dunno whether to head
East or
West.
Of course, I'm going to be making regular stops to see if i can get signed up for something. Enlistment included in "something" (which actually sounds like a sweet deal. I get a steady job, a roof, a reference and a paycheck? Score.), but i know they won't take me until i lose some weight, which to be hilariously honest, won't be a problem. :p
moonkatz let me know that the max age for Navy enlistment was 35 (I'm too old for the other ones, i'm pretty sure), so i'll look into that. Any roof's a good roof, as long as there's little chance i'll get booted with 2 days notice.
Thanks to everyone who offered their sympathy and/or help. I appreciate it, and you know i can beat this thing. MONKI FOREVAAAAAH!
If anyone would like to mention anything, now's the time to do it.
