I can’t tell you what a welcome treat this Halloween birthday offering is. I have missed your writing more than you know.
What a delightful tale, despite the death, with humor, poignancy, Elvish swearing, and that wonderful big, blue parrot making a cameo from My Fair Lindir, with more sage advice and an even bigger mystery.
I love the opening with poor Namo at his wits end with his latest resident. Poor Thranduil’s end was so unexpectedly mundane. Not only was he running trees, something he’s done dozens of times, but he was doing it dressed as a dancing girl. That video has to be on YouTube. lol
It’s great to see the old gang together again and pitching in to pull Thranduil out of his scrape, The chat with Manwe at the end is perfect, and the happy ending warms my heart.
You have a way of writing these characters so real and so heartfelt that reading them is like curling up on the couch under a cozy blanket and cup of cocoa. No matter what happens it’s good to know Thranduil and company will always be there to guide humans in our search for our better, more thoughtful, more whimsical selves.
Thank you for the gift of Elves, the gift that always fits just right and never wears out.
