Comet McNaught

I think I saw it. The paper said to look at the western horizon right after the sun set, and I did, on the walk home from work (via Bottleworks). When it wasn't blocked by hulking buildings, I saw a bright star-like light on the western horizon that held steady, setting slowly like the sun over the course of twenty minutes. Oh, awesome. I forgot to look. I'll try to remember to look tomorrow night; I sure hope it's not cloudy just then.

Venus is pretty close to the comet, also low in the west just after sunset, so I'm afraid it was probably Venus that you saw.

The lack of a tail made me wonder if it was Venus. Also the sheer brightness of it.
