HELL FREAKING YEAH
I suppose the Zhoo icon might be more appropriate, but Snoopy hasn't made an appearance in a while.
OMG I am sooooooo thrilled that Justine beat Serena. At the US. At night. And Jon Wertheim says this:
1. Versatility trumps power. While she's no cupcake, Justine Henin may not have the brute force of other players. But she compensates with the most complete game in women's tennis. Tuesday night, she offered the "Full Justine," beating Serena Williams with a mix of offense, defense, deft net play, slicing, zinging, touch, clutch serving, and generally poised play. Williams did not play all that poorly. She was simply outplayed.
Hell yes. This is what I have always believed - that if Zhoo is on, her variety and talent make her superior to any opponent on the court. I don't care that she had two on-court meltdowns this year (in addition to a bleak moment in Paris which I was witness to), or that everyone on the WTA tour is hurt etc etc - she is the best freaking player IN THE WORLD.
The thought of her winning got me through the horrible traffic on the way home today - I worked from 7:30 to 3:30 today, but school finishes at around 3:30 so you get all the baaaad post-school traffic... there were some annoysters out there but then, I was like, ZHOO BEAT SERENA. IN NEW YORK. AT NIGHT. ON HARD COURT. HELL YEAH.
