OMG this song is a key change extravaganza! Two! I'd never heard it before. Admittedly, the production is kinda cheesy though. I guess it is Shania though. I totally stumbled onto this album by accident, I was listening to Savage Garden and it continued on to Shania's Greatest Hits and I just haven't stopped it as yet. It's a little late-90s but oh well, I'll pretend I'm reliving high school.
I did some laundry this morning and swept the apartment corridor and kitchen today. I don't feel too bad for not going outside because I know it will be waaaaay too hot :p and I would've been alone and none of the shops are open and without a functioning portable music player, I'm not motivated to go for a walk or something. Oh, maybe I shall do a meme!
Put your music player on shuffle.
Press forward for each question.
Use the song title as the answer to the question.
No cheating!
How am I feeling today?
Mika - Stuck In The Middle. I don't know this song very well because I've only listened to the album once. Does anyone else like Mika? The album has some fun tracks. I was stuck in the middle earlier today, well, not reeeeeally in the middle, but basically I was supposed to go back to Philly from New Orleans one day early so I could attend my brother's concert :p and at first I was pissed off and didn't want to do it but now I guess I will. Ooh, fun scatting (no, not that sort) in this song.
Will I get far in life?
Counting Crows - Holiday in Spain (live at Heineken Music Hall). I guess I'll be making it rich, if I can afford to take a holiday in Spain! Or maybe I'll end up killing myself, because this song is so depressing. One or the other. Or both!
How do my friends see me?
Nickelback - If Everyone Cared. Oh dear, I do wish I could skip this one. They're glad I'm alive? How sweet. *fast forwards*
Where will I get married?
Barbra Streisand - Therapist Dialogue #3 (live in New York). On the contrary, I'm not ashamed of this one. :p Barbra is funny in this concert! and I guess I will be getting married in my therapist's office, which is perhaps appropriate given my relationship neuroses. :p
What is my best friend's theme song?
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy. What a nice segue from Barbra and the therapist. This is such a random question to ask in a meme. I thought it was all about ME. Not my best friend. ;)
What is the story of my life?
Mylène Farmer - L'Amour N'est Rien. Now this is more like it, back to meeeeee. I'm terrible with deciphering lyrics in French songs but there's something about love is nothing and boring when it's politically correct. Okay. That is the lesson I must take away from my life. And that key changes are wonderful (because this song has one).
What is/was high school like?
Natasha Bedingfield - What Ifs. New Natasha song! Her songs are quite catchy but I'm still not terribly inclined to download her album. Maybe I stressed out too much in high school and worried about what could be. Which might not have changed. By the way, her new album cover is fugly and this song has one of my pet peeves, which is a self-reference, i.e. a line which talks about 'this song'. I don't like those, Aslyn, please have fewer in your next album.
How can I get ahead in life?
The Corrs - Toss The Feathers. LOL, that's funny. I wish I knew how to. And man, there are too many questions, I'm going to have to stop listening to all the songs. But TTF is shortish so I will listen. As an aside, Simon linked me to the be-you-de-ful sketch today and I remembered how fun it was. :D
What is the best thing about me?
Beautiful South - Dream A Little Dream. My dreams? Wow. I quite often hate my dreams, they're so draining when I wake up and they leave me all emotional sometimes. As an aside, this song is on the French Kiss soundtrack and Beautiful South (whoever they are) sing the French version of this song and the lead singer's French is quite bad. :p Oh, apparently they were relatively successful in the UK in the mid 90s! Thanks, Wikipedia.
How is today going to be?
Destiny's Child - Independent Women Part 1. Well, there's not much of today left but I'm glad to know that the iTunes gods know that I'm going to be alone for the rest of the night. And a woman. I could listen to this song but for the sake of brevity I will skip it.
What is in store for this weekend?
Sheryl Crow - Home. Yes, I did stay home for most of this weekend. Skip!
What song describes my parents?
Sheryl Crow - Soak Up The Sun. Ah, Sheryl love from iTunes. I think my parents do soak up a lot of sun by living in Singapore.
My grandparents?
Vanessa Carlton - C'est La Vie. I never knew what this song was about and it ranks as one of my least favourite Vanessa tracks, so I shan't interpret and shall skip.
How is my life going?
Human Nature - Eternal Flame. Oh dear. I don't know if Vikki will read this and Kristen probably won't laugh too much so I guess I'm safe from too much ridicule. YOU LIE, MEME! I am not burning any eternal flames for anyone. One of my friends used to think this song was about hell.
What song will they play at my funeral?
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head (live in Manchester). Not my first choice, really, so for any of you who are going to organise my funeral, please don't. :p CGYOOMH was never my favourite Kylie track, it's grown on me now, but there are better ones. But it's nice that people will still be thinking about my loving after I'm gone.
How does the world see me?
Mariah Carey - Rainbow (interlude). Of all the Meem tracks! I'm glad I'm a rainbow to people though.
Will I have a happy life?
Imporrrrtant question. And the iTunes gods say.... Sarah McLachlan - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas! I guess I'll have happy Christmases but the rest of the year won't be so nice. :p
Do people secretly lust after me?
Young Divas - It's Raining Men. Hahahaha, well, I don't know, I guess the answer could mean that there are many other men to lust after besides me. Sad. :( I shall listen to this song for a little bit though!
How can I make myself happy?
Gnarls Barkley - The Last Time. This meme is no fun when I don't know the song in question. Upon a quick glance at the lyrics, I have ascertained that I must dance. Perhaps with the Gnarls Barkley singer.
What should I do with my life?
Paulini - Cravin'. It's Leeners! but again, not my favourite track on her album. I don't think craving will get me very far though.
Will I ever have children?
Coldplay - Swallowed In The Sea. Maybe I'm infertile.
What is some good advice?
Blink-182 - Dammit (live). I'm not a Blink-182 fan but my friend made me a mix CD and this is on it. Dammit!
What is my signature dancing song?
Mylène Farmer - Agnus Dei. Boooooo, boring answer, I don't know this song and it's certainly not danceable. :p
What do I think my current theme song is?
Prince - Kiss. That's more like it! :D Funness.
What does everyone else think my current theme song is?
Jewel - Satellite. After a bleak middle, we are coming back with fun songs for the finale! :D I don't really understand what this song is about, actually. I like the sushi line, though.
What type of men/women do you like?
Michael Bublé - Mack The Knife. Haha, Mafia gangsters, apparently. Which I think is what this song is about. Orrrr I could also like Blake Lewis. :D And people who appreciate MULTIPLE key changes!
Alright, that entertained me for a while, time for dinner. :D
c'mon c'mon break my heart again
iSee.
