so i noticed my last post was from early september. well it's now the end of january 2009. crazy.
brief recap: i had a great temp job at harvard and I loved the people i worked with. now i'm looking for a permanent job. i'm working for dad right now in the billing office and got my first paycheck yesterday...sweet deal, i was pretty much down to my last couple dollars. i turned 23, kristen turned 21, and makayla turned 5. my parents had their 25th wedding anniversary and kristen and i, with a LOT of help from auntie and caitlin pulled off a surprise dinner, which they loved! on a sadder note, Pepe died a couple weeks ago. it was different than with Meme because we were expecting it. in face I saw him mere hours before he passed on, so I was able to say goodbye and be with him for a little while. He wasn't very responsive, but he could hear us and would sometimes try to whisper something, so we were able to read his lips. he's no longer in any pain and that is a comfort to us all.
what else is new? I'm attempting to tackle a list called "1001 books you must read before you die" it's a big book thats like $35, but I was able to find the list online...hehe. they're listed by century and go backwards, so they're listed as 2000s, 1900s, 1800s, 1700s, and pre-1700s. So I decided to read the list backwards, and start with pre-1700s. I've skipped over the very first bookf or now because I need to go to the library to pick it up, but the next book I own so I started reading it: Ovid's Metamorphoses. (not to be confused with Kafka's Metamorphosis.....Ovid's are tales of those Greek people and the gods...you know legends about Achilles, Baucis and Philemon..etc etc.....I'm a nerd and had this book for a Latin class from high school...) Maybe whenever I start a new book, I shall post it in the title, in case there actually is anyone out there who reads this and would like to tackle the list as well.
The very first book on the list is Aesop's Fables, by Aesopus. So have at it :)
