"Push."
The midwife's voice is firm, comforting. The woman on the bed doesn't hear her, however, because she's too busy screaming.
Its almost Zen at this point, the woman hasn't stopped screaming since the first contraction hit. By this point its more of a dull rasping, but her maid has taken up the scream with a vengence;
"SHE'S GOING TO DIE, OH, CRUEL FATE!"
"Shut. Up."
The midwife is losing her patience, and then the crown of the baby's head shows. Everyone, save the mother, draws a huge breath of relief.
It isn't long before the baby is born, and then the midwife starts to ask for a name.
