Talk about a laaaate New Year's entry. @_@
Ah well... Better late than never!
HELLO 2010!
2009 was a real tear-jerker. We said goodbye to a lot of great people, experienced a lot of turbulence both physically and emotionally, and from the very beginning it was marked as a time of austerity and frugality.
Well, 2010 is going to be a much more promising year! I have high hopes for this year; things are going to change for the better. Everything's going to work out and there will be a lot more challenges to reign victorious over.
To begin with, here are the few things I've started to promise myself this year:
1. Be earth-friendly
Going green is the focus this year. And it's understandable! After a barrage of apocalyptic movies and the destructive erratic weather patterns, one feels compelled to contribute something to keep the end of the world at bay (if we can help it).
This year, I intend to plan monthly trips to recycling shops. Also, be more conscious about the products I use and the resources I consume. It's amazing how many harmful products can be found in daily, household items. Speaking of which, Ayala malls and SM Malls have recycling markets every month. Here are links to more information about them:

Human Nature for hygiene essentials. So far, I admit that it's a big change, but I've come to enjoy using these products. Personally, the major effects of going organic have been nothing but beneficial for me (and to think it hasn't been a month yet).
I understand that going organic is going to be a bit more expensive... but the end result is going to all be worth it. As my older sister said, it really is a lifestyle choice; I'm more than willing to invest in environment-friendly products! (In the end, it's going to help me too.)
2. Establish a writing career
I admit that writing's been such a task lately. I recall one day, just a few weeks ago, when it took me about fifteen minutes to write out a five-sentence reminder. I felt that it did not sound perfect... until I realized that my friend already sent out the message in the midst of my brainstorming.
My resolution is to compel myself to write something worth publishing once a month. It's not going to be easy, but I better start somewhere if I intend to build my career in writing.
3. Travel with friends
The goal is to travel somewhere within the Philippines (outside Metro Manila), which is set for Holy Week. The next is to travel to a foreign country. That's still being planned out but I'm gonna make sure it happens. I won't find excuses, especially not for funding! No more excuses. We will make these trips happen! Woot!
Well, that's about it for now. I want to be realistic about my resolutions, and these are big orders. I'm crossing my fingers and going workaholic mode to make it all a reality.
2010, you'll be a memorable year!
