I woke up to the sound of rainfall on my birthday. I was a bit surprised to find that it was only 6 am. Then, I remembered that I had a job interview that same day in an hour, at an office which was two hours away from my place (by commuting). Just the night before, I was chatting with a good friend that this was a job which was really more of a hobby, something which one might think of as a dream job of sorts. But 7 am? and on my birthday? 7 am is too horribly early for an interview-- the least they'd do is let me wait for two hours though expect me to be there on the dot. And so there went the dream job interview.
On the other hand, my friend still wants to take it... he'll be doing the walk-in interview sometime this week. :) Despite having turned down the initial interview, I'll try my luck with their other opening at another branch.
My birthday was indeed a rainy one. Mom and Dad were very enthusiastic about it (somehow I felt like they were happier than I was, haha!) and told me that I could do whatever I wanted for that day. Funny thing was, it was one of those days when I felt quite detached and inebriated. Mom and I still went out for a little shopping later that afternoon. Though, the mood went a little sour after a little incident which left me pissed off.
We were shopping for new clothes. I saw a nice top and pair of cropped pants and decided to try it out in the dressing room. The dressing rooms were nice and big and had mirrors inside... unfortunately the door lock was loose and someone who wanted to try something on pushed it open and saw me in my... bare state. Yes, it was a woman... but still!!! Ugh.
So there... not only did the clothes not fit snugly, I also felt extremely annoyed and didn't want to look around for clothes anymore. So me and mom decided to look around at the other shops instead. On the up side, I did manage to find something which I really had been wanting to have in a while... a bottle of Body Shop's new Cherry Blossom perfume. Haaah, despite the overwhelming smell of all sorts of perfumes when you walk in the shop, the Cherry Blossom perfume was magically mild in comparison and yet you could distinguish its addictive scent. AND it was on discount too. Just wonderful. :D After that, me and mom decided to have merienda at Iennes's, which serves sinfully good cupcakes. (what diet?)
So that was my 22nd birthday. Oh, and we had a Japanese dinner at Omakase! I highly suggest that you guys try that restaurant. It's usually packed on saturday evenings, but the ambiance as well as the menu is sure to make up for any inconvenience in waiting for a table. Plus, it's not that expensive. It's located right beside Alabang Town Center, at the first level of Casa Susana Arcade.

What's up with the typhoons? Here it is, rain in summer. Climate change giving us a sneak peek of what's to come.
It doesn't help either that the latest episodes of Supernatural are all about the Apocalypse, haha! Not to mention, the plot is becoming more and more out of this world (not to mention, heretical) every episode.
I sure hope the weather goes back to being pleasant next week... for the sake of
Padyak Pinoy.
