A Love Letter for No One
Vcayton
With the pit-patting of the rain, gaining intensity, upon the soft earth
can you begin to hear my heart's pace, helplessly attempting to contain my mirth
Only with the lack of wind and shade under the blistering heat of a summer day
will you understand that your absence and distance causes me greater pain
Through the yearning for food and water which without, renders one unable for a day to last
must you fathom how the absence or need thereof only makes my heart steadfast
May the need for a timepiece and a calendar remind you of brevity
that you may realize how the thought of you obtains for me a moment in eternity
In the vision of nature's immaculate beauty, of all living and leaving
shall you feel the mixture of emotions as I see you, mortal, free, being
For me to hear and be surrounded by the cold and rationalized arguments for attraction
I offer my thoughts, as raw as they may be, and leave you with an inescapable question
