CW 'verse. Nellis Airforce base. Unexpected good byes
Bumblebee knew it wasn't good as soon as she walked into the conference room and saw the way Jazz and Sam were talking together at the end of the big table. Then she looked around and knew it was very bad when the only other Autobots she saw were the rest of Ghost's crew and Elita.
"What happened?" she demanded, comming the sparklings to make sure they were all alright and then blinking as Nova also replied, sounding dazed and exhausted.
"There was an attack." Sam walked down the table and held out a hand to her. "Decepticons hit the Lennox's farm. Only Annabelle and Nova survived."
Bumblebee sank into the nearest chair. "Ironhide and Chromia.... And Sarah."
"'Hide 'n Mia fought back, then each grabbed a human 'n ran," said Jazz, his deep voice crackling with sadness. "'Hide and Nova managed to get to that funky subspace place the kids like to visit, but 'Hide was damaged too bad and died right after they got there. 'Mia and Sarah never made it away from the farm."
Bumblebee stared at him for a moment, then shook her head. "So what are we gonna do?"
"We're going to fight back," said Sam grimly. "We beat them once. If we're careful and if God's willing to back us again we can do it again."
She nodded. "Do the kids know?"
"Not yet." He winced. "I... don't know how to break it to Zoe. She didn't see a lot of Ironhide, but she liked him."
"Everybody did." Bumblebee closed a hand around him gently, then looked at Jazz. "Are we going to use one of the plans we put together?"
"I think so, yeah," he rumbled, rubbing his face.
"Okay. I'll be at home." She got to her feet, bringing Sam to her chest in an unconscious protective gesture. "Call me when everything's ready."
"Yeah. Go on." He turned away to hug his wife.
