"As I told you, it's Clark Kent," he repeated patiently. "I'm Brenda's teacher. One of them."

Porthos blinked.

"N' what's goin' on here?"

"What do you mean?" He frowned slightly.

"The costumes and secrets and underground lairs... even I know that means something's up," he said, frowning back.

Clark sighed. "Nothing's up. There are reasons for all of it. But I'd better leave the explaining to Prudence. She's been in the business a lot longer than I have."

"Just tell me one thing... how dangerous is this for my Lady?" he scowled.

"You've already seen that," said Clark quietly, then turned and strode toward the door, only to vanish as he passed through.

Porthos jutted out his chin, then turned moodily way. That confirmed it. There was nothing short of the Devil himself who could keep Porthos from joining his lady on her strange hunts now, they were far too dangerous.
