((Starts here.))Katydid looks around curiously as they leave the more lived in parts of the Nexus and enter a world of red rock badlands, her brown optics brightening and her antennae twitching. It's a strange place to a little bug who lives in a swamp, but it also looks like the kind of place that a Seeker would like to live

Daimon sighs quietly as he leads them down the path. I think, with enough work, I can at least help Skywarp to remember the boy. His expression is distracted as he searches for the birds with his mind.

"Just a little further down this way."

*Kickback looks around carefully his own instincts insisting that this place was far too open for his own liking. Still he keeps himself calm and manages to ignore that little voice in the back of his head screaming TRAP. Which in itself was no easy feat.*

You okay *he murmured to Sundog as he notices the seekerling's wariness* You know I wont make you do anything you don't want to okay. *he soothes softly*

"Yeah," whispers the youngling, his optics still on the sky. "It... it's just so open. Anybody could see... us!"

He cries out and puts an arm up over his face as a golden arrow streaks out of the sky and gives one of Kickback's antennae a vicious yank, 'Keeeking' piercingly.

"We're under attack!" cries Katydid fearfully as the bird shoots upward again.

From Sunstreaker comes only the ferocious urge to protect her nest from such scary looking creatures.

"..."

"Uh...no. She thinks the big scary metal people are after her nest. Hangon, I'll try and clear up the misunderstanding."

Daimon closes his eyes and starts radiating waves of soothing emotion. Attack? Where? Big grazers don't attack. Wandering people don't attack.

Underneath it all, he gives the golden bird a small but pointed subconscious poke, showing the image of Sundog cowering.

(You just scared your own kid. BAD.)

He continues radiating calm as he sends a thread of consciousness out, looking for the bird's mate.

Positive and friendly? Nnnnot really. But strangely enough Skywarp still trusted Kickback with his son... because of how far Kickback had gone to protect the little pink Autobot femme.

But still he shakes his head and then scratches at it a little as Daimon works before suddenly blinking and keeking with shrill surprise as recognition slowly dawns.

Daimon nods slowly, and sends out another wave of reassurance as reality starts to dawn. "Ok, ok. Almost got at least the first part of it. He's going to get a little agitated, I suspect. I'll mitigate it as best I can."

[insect_kickback]

*Kickback nods softly keeping a careful hold on the seekerling* I'll keep that in mind *he mutters; most of his sensors are trained on the two younglings attached to him but he does spare enough to keep an 'eye' out on the surrounding area.*

"Kickback, you frag slagging son of a ....!" Here comes a feathered arrow with a memory of being laughed at and vengeful antennae pulling in his fierce little heart.

"Skywarp, no!" cries Sundog as Katy gives a small shriek of fear.

Sundog! Oh no....

Skywarp's flight falters, his feathers poofing out as his brain swirls with confusion.

"Yeah, and I've been paying him well to do it, too!" Skywarp calms, though he's still breathing heavily.

Then he gives a soft, affectionate falcon call. "Sundog? Are you okay?"

The little Seeker is crying, but he nods at his mentor's question. "Ye... yeah. I wanna see him."

Katydid just silently wibbles in sympathy for her friend as she watches over Kickback's shoulder.

Daimon walks over and crouches down so that bird and bot can get to each other.

"Well, cash is a great incentive, but I just saw 'im protect both the littles with his body when Her Goldenness attacked.

"Here ya go."

[insect_kickback]

*He snorts* Ah now you gone and ruined my bad boy image *Kickback whines obviously fake* Bah I'm quite fond of the little guy; we just can't afford to keep two youngsters without getting paid.

...well that and never underestimate a cranky female even if she is pint sized...literally in this case. *Kickback adds in some dry humour*

Okay Sundog; *big pause as Kickback gently puts the kid down* ....want me to hold your hand or something? *he asks a little sheepish since he has no idea how to deal with this and call him a softie but hates to see kids cry. He gently reaches his hand over his shoulder to give Katy a reassuring pat*

"Yeah... well, you know all my painful secrets now too." Skywarp ruffles his feathers uneasily, but then makes that soft call again to his creation.

Sundog shakes his head to Kickback, though he gives his mentor a grateful look for the offer. Instead he wipes at his face, and then steps forward uncertainly to reach for his transformed creator, who flutters in attempt to hop to him.

And Katydid snuggles and gets Kickback in a deathgrip around his neck. Good thing he doesn't need to breath.

"What's a giant bunny?" Skywarp pauses. "And a goose?"

Then he looks up at Sundog and kreeees softly with concern. "You're shaking. You need to go rest."

"I'm okay," says the Seeklet, frowning.

"I don't want you to get sick, Sundog."

*Kickback walks over and nudges the seekerling* Don't be all high an mighty kid. It's okay to ask for help every now and then. *he gently steadies the smaller youngling*

*He blinks at Damion* ...giant...bunny? *yeah he's trying to picture that*

"Uh...." Daimon grins sheepishly. "Yeah. I actually have a rabbit that is big and tough enough that your larger guys could keep him as a pet without worrying about squishing him. *he digs out a photograph of Said Bun (with Daimon, his son and Miriam leaning against him)* and shows Sundog and Katy.

"Geese...are...well, big water birds. They will kill and eat snakes, they will chase off cats and foxes, and they eat...grass, mostly. Some human cultures have used them as watch animals.

"As for me, I said I'd help, and the only regular inhabitants are my son and one student."

Katydid looks at the picture with wide, interested optics, then glances at Sundog who has frowned at it and then turned his attention back to Daimon as he talks.

"Snakes taste pretty good," says Skywarp absently, then keeks with alarm and leaps into the air as Sundog totters. "Kickback, get him!"

"That works." Skywarp nods as he watches Kickback carry Sundog away, the gesture looking odd on his falcon form. "I'll try to have Streaker in a good mood."

[tigereyedrogue]

"Thanks for that. But if all else fails, I have good reflexes and heal fast...."

[random_xtras]

"I just need to remind her that she hates having organic gook on her." The falcon fluffs slightly and looks up at Daimon, his emotions rueful and fond as he thinks of his mate.

"True enough. So...d'you need anything out here in the meantime?"
