Blazer leaned wearily against the sun-warmed wall, alert for any call which might summon him back to the Peace Summit, which was still going strong and giving the security team glitches. One arm was wrapped around the sleeping form of Oriana 2 as she curled against him and cuddled her furby, the other hand rested on the fluffy head of the little fuzor, Windstripe. The young Bridge's face was sober as he looked at the tall blond woman who knelt in front of him. "But why do you want to take training here? What about your family where you live?"
"Optimus has gone back to his home reality," said Oriana quietly, her blue eyes focused on the ground by her knees. "I need to find something else to do. And... I want to learn more about the reality that created me. Cureall's reality will always be a home, but this place...."
"You feel connected," he said softly, nodding with understanding.
"Yes." She looked up at him with the seriousness that he remembered so well from the time she'd been growing inside his systems.
"I haven't got any objections," he told her with equal seriousness. "But my duties often take up my every waking cycle. I may not have much time to devote to you."
Oriana patted him gently on the foot. "I'm not a sparklet anymore, Teletraan." Her eyes twinkled as she smiled. "You don't need to worry about me."
He blinked, then raised one brow plate. "Forgive me. I've never interacted with a mature creation before except during your visit here. I'm not sure how to do it yet."
"From what I've seen creators never stop trying to mentor their creations." She chuckled and glanced toward Windstripe as he growled softly in his sleep. "We'll get to know each other with time, and develop our own family dynamic."
He nodded, his mouth twitching at the corners. "Will you stay here, in my spare room, or at the academy? And what courses are you planning on taking?"
"Here," she said decidedly. "I'm used to having little ones around, and I don't think I'd like the silence. And I'm thinking that I'll start with a round of general studies till I find what fits me best. I know I make a good security guard, but with this shell I'm not likely to be hired for such a post."
"You're more than a security guard." He sighed, wishing that he'd given her more while she was growing. "Prima was no genius, but she wasn't just a grunt, either."
"Just a femme from the docks...." She looked around at raised voices and laughter, her brows lifting as she spotted a group of two mechs and a Minibot femme. "Who's that?"
"Iron squad." He rubbed Oriana 2's back as she frowned and stirred in her sleep. "One of Rodimus' best scouting teams. The light green and yellow mech is their Bridge, Pax. The brown femme is their communications tech, Keeper...."
"And the blue and white?" Oriana smiled as she watched him push his young teammate and tease him good-naturedly.
Blazer blinked at something in her tone, wondering at the protective urge that rose up in his spark in response to it. "That's Fixer, their medic. You'll probably meet them at some point, they're staying here in the compound."
"I think I'd like that." She watched until the trio walked out of sight, then turned back to him with shining eyes. "It will be good to meet people my own age."
He frowned slightly, making a mental note to do a background check on that young medic. "Their squad leader is an interesting person. He was created only a couple years after Kup."
"Kup." Oriana's eyes darkened slightly. "I'm sorry I missed him."
"So am I." Blazer sighed, but then started and gathered his feet under him, gently shaking the sparklets awake so that they wouldn't come online and find him gone. "I have to go. Rodimus is calling."
"Can we come with you?" Oriana 2 snapped to instant awareness.
"I'll go get my things." Oriana smiled at the eager sparklet as she stepped forward to give her creator a hug.
"Alright." He smiled at her and watched her walk a short distance away to PINpoint off, then brought Oriana 2 and Windstripe with him to answer the summons.
