New position at work is pretty good. Not as fun as working in the shop was but not soul sucking either. Doing a ton of driving for work. Probably over 1000 miles in the last month or so. Been away from home on business trips and training too. It's hard on me and the car and I'm not raking in much better money than I was before so I'm still constantly broke. I need to whittle away at bills and keep holiday spending to my usual minimum again this year. Hopefully come January or February I'll be in an acceptable place to get a new vehicle. I just hope the Audi holds out until then. I only have 1 or 2 more trips to Portland for training in December, thankfully. I'm stuck working all the holidays, though. Oh well. Wasn't planning on going anywhere anyhow.
Rat City got their asses handed to them at nationals. I'm disappointed to say that it doesn't surprise me too much. The months leading up were filled with injuries and drama. Things are changing a lot this off-season and hopefully it'll shake things up for the better and get the league back on track. Aside from that, I had a lot of fun. I was still bummed that I spent 3 days working the penalty box rather than floor reffing but I still enjoyed myself.
Things have been going well with Josie. It just hums along smoothly with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. We don't fight, we don't stress on each other, we just do what come naturally. It's nice.
Music's been going nowhere. I'm back in that bitter slump where I don't feel like putting any effort in because I don't feel appreciated. Plus it's fall and for some reason, come fall, I like listening to bands more than electronic music. I listened to a ton of Hip-Hop over the spring, Jazz over the summer, and now I'm listening to The End, oddly enough. Part of it is that I've been too broke to go out too much or even to buy my Beatport tracks. That's enough to keep me stimulated. I had started laying out a new CD but I fell off with it. Now it's aging. Once I pick up some tracks things might turn around a bit.
Saw both Tom and Kathleen in the last 10 days. That was cool and unusual. I need to get a hold of Rob and some other people. Haven't seen Verbal in quite some time either. Now that derby's off for a while I can hopefully sort out a night here and there to catch up with folks.
