Wow, a post of substance?
Hey everyone!
+ SO. To get this post started, Sunday's episode of Mad Men: I've said this several times around the MM communities and all but I really enjoyed the last episode except for the black mugger bit. Though it may be a precursor for something later or relevant in some sort of way, for the moment I'm just rolling my eyes at the typical AW SHIT BLACK CRIMINAL thing. And I'm really sick of people at madmen_tv trying to dismiss the fact that it made some people uncomfortable. You can excuse it away all you want or think that the writers are just that fucking magical and that there is SOOOOME reason it happened, but respect the fact that it bothered people. Damn. Also, that scene was just so hammy and contrived. "OOOH, THE NEIGHBORHOOD SURE HAS CHANGED OH NO NEGRO WITH A GUN DDDDD:" Gimme a break.
Also, loling at some people who were praising what Peggy said to Abe. Yeah he was mansplaining the fuck out of that conversation, but Peggy's bootstraps mentality in regards to black people trying to get by was just as bad. At least she still dwelt upon it later.
BUT OMG SALLY AND PEGGY INTERACTING FELT LIKE A CROSSOVER EPISODE. I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN MORE. Oh and of course...

Congrats to midnight_ljc and chimbleysweep for winning awards and having straight up awesome art.
Also, yay for myself for getting ~second place~ for fic :D I suppose I may as well pimp it now: Privilege and Prejudice
There is also a master list for the flash fiction/art round here. I must go thank the mods and reply to comments at some point today. They did a great job and made my first fest experience enjoyable :3 ♥
+ TODAY IS THE FIRST MEETING OF MY UNI ORGANIZATION "HOWARD STUDENTS FOR PROGRESSIVE ACTION"!!! For those who were on my flist last year/earlier this year, you may remember how much trouble I went through getting this shit together and how delayed I was thanks to some epic incompetence, but today we finally get started and I'm nervous but excited. Cool story, I know.
+ I'm really getting sick of waiting so long for a fucking Inbetweeners link. Damn, tiny fandom. Why can't you be as on it as Skins fans? I mean, same fucking channel and all.
+ I never mentioned my schedule, did I?

No classes that I hate but my Principles of Reasoning prof is...something. Also, I can hardly understand him sometimes because his accent is so thick. Ah well.
