I didn't mention the actual fun I had before this morning!
There's a bar right behind my place, so I got a few friends from work together so we could watch the Election returns come in "like a football game." Yeah, I've managed to find fellow dorks. So sue us, we're software engineers. Very passionate software engineers, at that.
We monopolized the back room of this place-- TV, Pool table, a few dining tables, couch, coffee table, and a piano, and just cut up as the returns came in. Around midnight we realized we were the only people there (I guess there are people out there that actually work on a Wednesday...), so we left. But it was interesting how much like a football game it actually became. Since we had the place to ourselves we had full control of the TV, so we switched to the Daily Show's live election coverage. That was hilarious. Who's going to take Ohioda? Know anyone from Pennsylconsin?
They announced New Jersey went blue, and we were all... "what's the big fuckin' surprise? were they ever really a swing state?" Joe, a Jersey native, said "Yeah, well, Jersey just wanted some attention." Cool that the whole gay Governor thing didn't hurt the democrats. Damn, I'd have hated to be the state democratic campaign manager there when that sh*t hit the fan.
Got me a buffalo chicken salad; a kick-ass plate of lettuce, shredded cheese, tomatoes, and the juiciest, most succulent chicken batterfried and doused in buffalo sauce until it screams "I'm red! Eat me now and I will make you the happiest person on the planet!", served with bleu cheese. Junior's buffalo tenders, you have found your match, my friend.
Speaking of Junior's, who's in for a quick trip there the next time I'm in town? Speaking of coming to town, I never really got the full Atlanta club experience. It's great up here, but there's just something unique about Peachtree Street/Buckhead.
Who's in?
