Wedding

Yesterday Zoe organized a wedding in our backyard.  She invited guests and told them to dress up.  She told them they needed a date.  They practiced dancing (with boys!) at recess.  She hired a caterer (well, talked Mrs Godden into baking muffins).  She moved chairs into rows before school, so they would be ready. The most amazing part?  The guests showed up!  17 kids in my backyard all dressed up.  More boys then girls!  They managed to get Cam into a monkey suit (literally) and Faith was all dressed up.  The groom did lay on the alter, but when he was told to kiss the bride he kissed her knee, which was met by much hooting and hollering and some chanting of "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"  But then the muffins were brought out, and the circa 1992 boombox and there was dancing!  All we were missing was the open bar!  All the kids danced, even some couples.  Then the pool was opened and we had a swimming reception.  So fun.  (I counted and in total there were  26 kids who came and went - all neighbors!)
