Awesome Weekend/Henry Rollins

I had a pretty bad ass weekend! Jessica came to spend the weekend with me from Kalamazoo and arrived Friday evening. We hung out for a bit and she went to go see some friends from Ypsilanti and I just chilled in my apartment Friday night. That was nice because I've been having a crazy time at work and I just wanted to relax. Then Saturday Jessica and I walked around downtown as the football game ended in the afternoon and we stopped by the Michigan Theater to see if there were still tickets available from Henry Rollins spoken word performance that night and they were, but we couldn't purchase tickets until 7:00. We were ultra full from the Pancheros we ate so we relaxed at my apartment some more and I called my buddy Jon to see what time he was going to see Henry Rollins and offer my driveway to park in if he so wanted. He wasn't sure because she was going with some friends from out of town and they were meeting at his place. So, I said I'd keep an eye out for him and meet him there. Jessica and I arrived at the theater around 7:30 and jumped in line to purchase tickets and a guy approached the line and asked if anyone was in line to buy tickets and I said, "We are actually." Then he pulled out two tickets and said, "I have two free ones, you can have them." and handed them to me. Jessica and I were so excited to get free tickets! Especially since I'm really broke! We thanked the guy and Jessica got a coffee and we found Jon on the way back with is friends. Henry's performance was incredible! He's a very creative and articulate thinker and a great story teller. I've listened to his spoken word before, but it is much better live. Then after the show Jessica, Jon, Jon's friends and I all came back to my apartment and drank some beers and ate pizza. I really wish I could have more weekends like that. Now I'm doing laundry and preparing for my hockey game tonight. Its the first of the season. I hope we do well!
