Also, our genius, lock-picking Sherlock was spot on with his lack of emotion and his impatience at getting to the root of the problem.
A terrific fic, all the way round.

The comfort felt so good after the hurt, though I would have liked it much longer! Clingy!Mycroft was very endearing. Lestrade kept saying he wasn't the BAMF!hero type; but he didn't break under that kind of torture. It's so true to his character.
So Mycroft calling Lestrade by name on the phone was a message to tell him ... he will find him?

He knew that as Mycroft would never call him Greg except at home in bed... that anything he said was a lie.
You might note he only ever called him Inspector even when you might expect he'd call him Greg!

In other words, Mycroft was telling him not to tell the baddies anything?

I didn't spell out what it was until the end scene, but Mycroft says in that "That I couldn't negotiate but that I would do everything I could to find you."
Lestrade realised that the name that was never used except when they were alone in bed was a signal, and that it meant "What I say isn't real, you know if I was serious I wouldn't use this name in this way"
