Whoa. Give me a minute to collect my thoughts...

This was profound, and I don't use that word very often or lightly. You have truly constructed two intensely intriguing and complicated characters.

When Mycroft threatens Lestrade with Donovan's life (if I understood correctly), my heart sank to the bottom and I was yelling at MH inwardly, 'Why are you doing this again, you idiot? Why do you yearn to see him suffer so?!' Then I was stunned and so saddened to see Lestrade's response. But not disappointed in him in any way. Because I understood his thought process. Poor man's suffered so much in the hands of the Holmes brothers, his only hope was not to drag another innocent person into this.

Then this.

'This was wrong. The proud devastating man who had inflamed him so was gone. Was broken. '

'He had done this, had allowed his control to slip, had allowed his base feelings to take over, and Lestrade was paying the price.'

Moisture almost threatened my eyes at those words. Because I was feeling Lestrade's pain and numbness along with him

There will be more, although I need a story.... I have a fair bit of writing done for this an abandoned so I will be finding ways to use it.

I'm stoked you like it, because your Lestrade fics were one of the ones that really got me into Lestrade. Especially the BAMF one in The Case of he Kidnapped Inspector, but the Quiet deep one in Rough Trade and the others too.

Well.. you may be interested to know that part 6 is sitting in an almost complete state. I have one bit that needs reworking. And you keep reading my mind, stop that!

I've been blown away by the comments I've got, the sheer quality of them. And somehow that gave me some ideas on where to take this.
