Well, I made it through the last week of school, finals, and tent-sale at work with my sanity. Today I repainted the guest bedroom in our house, but made our ever-growing mess even larger.
Dustin's sister, Amber, graduates from high-school this week, (seriously... I'm going to be so glad when May is over and I don't have to hear the word "graduation" for a while) and his grandmas are coming into town. I know they are going to want to come over and see what we've done in the house, and how different everything is... I hope I have time to get things cleaned up around here before they come visit.
Been reading a lot more lately - finding time to read during slow hours at work, or on lunch breaks, and a lot more at home. It's been really nice, and I'm looking forward to making a big dent in my summer reading list. The book I'm reading right now, Lamb: the gospel according to Biff, Christ's childhood Pal is really good. Funny, and thoughtful, which I like. It's about Christ's teenage years and twenties before he was baptized by John. Some probably wouldn't like it... but at the beginning of the book is a great quote:
If you have come to these pages for laughter
may you find it.
If you are here to be offended, may your ire rise
and yoru blood boil.
If you seek and adventure, may this story sing you
away to blissful escape.
If you need to test or confirm you beliefs, may
you reach comfortable conclusions.
All books reveal perfection, by what they are or
what they are not
May you find that which you seek, in these pages
or outside them.
May you find perfections, and know it
by name
-Author's blessing (Christopher Moore)
In any case - it's thoughtful... and I like that.
