Summer!
Hello Loverlies
For the first time since the Summer into my senior year of high school I will be in Tampa. I am so ready to reconnect with all of my family and old friends. I will be working with the City of Tampa Natural Resources and Forestry division but am so excited to get to spend time with people who have made such an impact on my l life. I also will be taking 2 online classes and studying for the GRE and possibly LSAT but there's plenty of time in between.
I'm super excited about my internship with the CoT because I get to work on conservation policy and planning. I will be putting together a comprehensive report on certain residential areas and see if the reports line up to what the policy makers planned and if the management protocol has been followed. Also, I will be designing and environmental education program for the City of Tampa to use at their 74 different parks!
Some goals I have for the summer:
1. hang out with people alot and do cool things (ie- canoe, camp, farmers markets, tree houses, put on shows, have silly parties)
2. bring some sustainable practices to my family, friends and tampa overall- sounds like a big one but Gainesville is so progressive with their local food system, recycling system, community outreach, alternative transportation, farmers markets etc.
3. be able to share my awesome family with anyone who wants to be apart of it (ie- birding with my grandma, gardening with my aunt, being an anxty teenager with my cousin, drawing maps on how to take over the world with my dad)
4. Go to Tampa Green Drinks with some of my friends
5. Get my parents into eating right and exercising
6. start a garden(s)
7. take a road trip with some people to the tree house hostel/ road trips to Adam in Tally/ road trip to Cheryl in Jax
8. Get to re-know everyone again (ie- learn about who theyve become, who they want to be and what they think about life)
9. work on my relationship with Watkins since it'll be the first time we're permanently separated by distance
10. find out what Tampa has to offer!
I knwo you all are very busy but if you could help me make these happen it would just be superrrr! I'll be home May 5th!
