Local Omaha band, Sarah Benck & the Robbers, which won the opening slot for the Nov. 12 Bon Jovi concert at the Qwest Center Omaha, is competing for the chance to open another Bon Jovi show.
This time the show is at Giants Stadium. Benck and her band have a shot at playing in front of 80,000 fans this summer in Bon Jovi's home state of New Jersey.
Twenty-four bands from across the country are competing online to win the opening gig and a record demo deal. The contest is sponsored by XM Satellite Radio. From the pool of 24 bands, online voters will determine the final four. Bon Jovi will pick the winning act. A group of six new bands is posted each week.
