General rant.
I feel like a member of the fucking village people in this hard hat I have to wear to work.
This place has become a comedy of errors on a grand scale. Yesterday one of the Asbestos Abatement crews cut through the main server cable cutting all network access in the library. The effect: reference can't find call numbers so we can't get books. The effect's result: a shit load of angry patrons who don't think it's fair that they can't go get their books themselves. Sure it ain't fair.
But it ain't fair that the library caught fire the week before finals either. We have no power on second or third. There are no celing tiles on any of the floors other then the first floor. There is only air conditioning on first as well, and it is trying to compensate for the whole building. So it is hot enough that there might as well be no air conditioning.
Today we have network access again. But we have no working phone lines. We also seem to have a shelver who doesn't know his ass from his elbow about the alphabet. Where he gets the idea the K34 belongs in PT7 I have no idea. But me and one of the other girls had the fix the ENTIRE re-rout area yesterday!
And I have just been informed that the air will be off for the rest of the week. Muther Fucker!
One a lighter side, Meredith makes me very happy and I love her very much. Waking up to her smile is a great way to start each day. Coming home to her makes up for all the suck of the day.
And I want a beer.
