You only have to run fast than the person you're with...

There is an old saying...
When you’re walking in the woods and you meet a bear you don't have to out run the bear.  You only have to run faster than the person your with.

Today I learned the opposed could be true in certain occasions.  I was speeding on 41 between 137 and 176.  I was going about 65 mph in the left lane.  It was one of those occasions, which you’re the first person at the intersection of a red light and so it turns green and you just keep pace with the person next to you.  Well, he had to slow down due to a merging truck.  So these two kids in some car from I think the late 80's speed out from behind me into the right lane to pass me.  They are going 70-75 to my 65.  Then we both see it at the same time a cop in a drive off to the right and both of us just start coasting.  The cop pulls out of the drive and floats behind the other car for about 5 min.  During which my coasting cause me to drift back and I then shift lanes behind the cop.  The cop’s lights go on and he pulls over the other car and I go right past them and immediately get off at the 176 exit just so he wouldn't try to get me later or call ahead to another squad car.

So in this case I didn't need to go slower than the speed limit just slower than the person I was with.

I think I was just happy to get back into my car after being forced to drive that Kia loaner while they were detailing my car.  Ick...  I don't know why I hated it so much.  But I did.

I should find out if I have any friends living in Gurnee.  I can make it a point to visit them more often, because I get free carwashes every time I go back to the dealer.

I had some other comment but have forgotten them by the time I got to the computer to type it.
