And as very very sad as it makes me to say it: MEH. This is the first episode of this season that I've really been kinda disappointed with. For one thing, as odd as this sounds, I thought the Daleks were very out-of-character. Seriously. I mean, even aside from the fact that Daleks would NEVER evolve into human-Daleks or whatever (also lame), and even given the fact that yeah, the Cult of Skaro is a little different with having their own names or whatnot, they just weren't all that... Dalek-y. And yeah, a lot of the Daleks, if not all of them, that we've seen in the new series tend to be a little different, with even the Doctor saying so. But none of them have made me go, "What? A Dalek would never say that?" like the scene with the Dalek talking about the destruction of their planet did.
Okay, best line of the whole episode: "I am so glad to see you." "Yeah, well, you can kiss me later. You, too, Frank, if you want."
Tallulah had some funny bits ("Oh, I shoulda realised. He's into musical theatre, huh?"), but the musical number stunk. Plus also, Martha was a bit of an idiot, cause if she'd just gone round the back she could have snuck up on Laszlo with him nonethewiser, problem solved, show saved.
But yeah, it was just really so-so for me. And it started picking up in the end, and then Sec popped out looking like a cycloptic-octopus-head and what the hell was that? I honestly thought the whole Dalek/human thing was going to end up with them looking like humans but with the power of Daleks, so then you wouldn't even know they were coming. But I don't know what they're going to do with this. Pfft. Oh yeah, and the pigs still suck. Hopefully it'll pick up
next week when there are LOTS OF EXPLOSIONS! And flying Daleks, whee!
