Drawing High

I know that I graduated with a bachelor of Arts in Illustration, but after rushing through school so much, I forgot mostly why I wanted to be an Illustrator in the first place. Sure I'm good at drawing, but so many others are better. Now two years later, I'm remembering why. I get a freakin' high after I draw something well. When I finally get what I'm seeing in my head down on paper. It gives me such a rush. I did this drawing on the computer, the kitty yin-yang thing. Well I made a blanket with that as a model, painted on it, not sewing it. Then I've been drawing a lot recently. I'm just getting this rush. Tonight I drew the kitty yin-yang out on paper with pastels and charcoal. It's been so long since I've drawn with charcoal. I like it, and it was always good for quick sketches, but it's been at least a year, and I've never really been good with color outside of the computer where it's easy to erase the mistakes.
But I'm looking a this drawing that I did with those pastels, and I love it. The fur looks like fur, the black is black even though I mixed in other colors, because a solid color changes color with shades and what not. Plus the white cat is perfect. I didn't even use that much white conte and mixed in blue and yellow and brown for shading. Now all I need to do is calm down, find some hairspray, and matte it for my cousin. I'm thinking of adding a Japanese proverb down the side, because like usual, the picture is a little bit too much to the let.
Say what I will about my drawing, but I never really seem to keep things centered on a page when drawing. Always off in a corner.
but I don't care because the picture looks even better than the computer drawing I did. That really means a lot to me right now.
