(no subject)
So I have this slightly disturbing urge to write another follow-up to And Lifts the Latch/And Wears the Crown because about four people told me the ending was "cute"... which was not what I was going for. So I now feel that I should reassert the badness of the Harley/Joker relationship, and how he liked to take potshots/get her in bad situations/be randomly abusive. Even though I can hardly remember anything about it.
To be perfectly honest, the OCs that are going around bother me. The Joker, this Joker especially, is not a good guy, and any relationship with him is not going to be a healthy one, to say the least. (For the record, he gave me nightmares. Relatively mild ones, but still.)
Why does this bug me more than, say, the Phantom of the Opera, especially Leroux's version? I mean, obviously the Joker's a lot more sadistic, but still: they're both murderous nutters. So what's that say about me, with my own Erik/OC safely tucked away? In my own defense, I did try to point out, throughout the long-winded entirety of Absolution, that Maggie and Erik's relationship was not a healthy one, either.
I dunno. I think I'm thinking about this too much. It even distracted me from my long obsession with the Doctor, and that's saying something.
(Meanwhile, in other news, why on earth are there no good Brothers Grimm icons? That's such a gorgeous movie.)
