The joys of vinegar

Snippet from the Pumpkin:
Pumpkin: "Hungry."
Me: "Sweet or saltly?"
Pumpkin: "Saltly."
Me: " Soft or crunchy?"
Pumpkin: "Soft."
Me: "The soft pretzel thingies?"
Pumpkin: "No."
Me: "Pizza?"
Pumpkin: "No, it'll take too long."
Me: "What, you got a hot date or something?"
Pumpkin: "Want food now. None of this waiting thing."

Yeah, I'm a smitten chica.

In other news I was working on the whole my laundry basket is overflowing with clothes thing and was over at Avie's using her washer (omigod is she so sick!). Well we use vinegar instead of fabric softener. She's allergic to most brands and vinegar is a LOT cheaper. So I put in the stinky stuff in and set the gallon jug on the washer.

I go off to do other stuff.

I wander back into the kitchen and step in some water.

"Oh great, Griffen has knocked out some of his water."

"Hm… how did he track it to the fridge?"

"That's off. Why are there little wet paw prints on Vinny's comic book box?"

"What's that smell?"

"Crap… Martha! Could you get some towels?"

That's right folks, the gallon jug full of vinegar vibrated off of the washing machine and COVERED the kitchen floor.

My baggy cargo pants smell like the stuff.

The upshot is that my toenails were painted pretty colors so they look festive.

Comments from the kitchen clean up (it really wasn't bad):
Martha: "Well they used to use vinegar in hospitals to purify the air."
Avie: "Yah, and they also used leeches."

pumpkin, chateau le boo
