Spring Classes

Well the Spring semester is already here. Damn. I've enjoyed my art class, but since the spring (with DREAMATION, Spring Gathering and DEXCON) its too hard for me complete art homework.

So here are my options.

TUESDAY:
ACTING 1 - 3 humanities - 6pm - 8:40pm
An introduction to the craft of acting. Acting skills are explored and developed through both structured and improvised classroom activities. The emphasis of this course is on liberating the student's creative energy and expression.

WEDNESDAY:
Cultural Anthropology - 3 Behavioral - 5:15pm - 7:55
This course introduces students to archaeology as a scientific discipline through lectures, discussions, and exercises. The course covers a wide range of theoretical and methodological topics that are illustrated from cultures around the world with an emphasis on New World examples. This course provides the basis for evaluating and understanding the goals, data and results of archaeological research.

WESTERN CIV I ROME-1648 - 3 Social - 6pm - 8:40
This course is a survey of the history of Western Civilization from its earliest manifestations through the 17th century. The course begins with the birth of civilization, proceeds through Greek and Roman times to the Middle Ages and finally explores the Renaissance, the Reformation, the absolutist monarchies and the Scientific Revolution, ending with the Thirty-Years War and the formation of the nation state.

Understanding Mass Media - 3 credits - 6:40 - 9:40
Survey of language, structure, and operation of mass media, with emphasis on the seven major mass media. Study of major changes in print and electronic media and the effects of mass communication on individuals and society.

THURSDAY
Intro to Sociology - 3 Behavioral - 6pm - 8:40
Basic theories and concepts relating to the study of groups in human society are studied. Emphasis is placed on the concept of culture; the reciprocal relationships of culture and the individual. It is designed to introduce interested students to the basic principles of this discipline.

Voice & Diction - 3 credits - 6:40 - 9:40
Effective use of the voice and speech mechanism; breathing, phonation, resonance articulation; individual instruction and practice in voice and speech improvement. Several varieties of American English are introduced as well as discussion of the many languages, cultures, and dialects that have influenced American English.

I'm currently leaning towards Acting 1 (should be a breeze and I REALLY want to act again), Western Civ, and Voice & Diction. Though I do have to say that Cultural Anthropology looks fascinating (I have a secret yen for archaeology) Understanding Mass Media and Sociology (group dynamic here I come!)

Thursday would be tough to do since the first class would be the opening day of DREAMTION. True, I could come late, but I'd be really late and I'd rather not do that and missing first day of class really isn't an option. Tuesday, I've discovered, is harder for doing homework since I don't start doing it till Thursday, I piss at it over the weekend and then Monday is heroes then BOOM class. I don't think that Acting would be a lot, but you never know. If it's memorization, I can nail that easy (knowing all of Midsummers anyone?), but research might harder if it’s a bigger time sync of a class.

So I need to plan. We'll see what I decide.
