"Cause I love you"

Dec 26, 2006 00:18

Rumors of my death are largely exaggerated.

Or they would be if people spread rumors about me. And we all know that people never ever talk about me.

I appear to be not as sick as I was yesterday, which was pretty sick. I missed Christmas Eve services which sucked because I apparently missed my friend Matt who I haven't seen in years. Much sadness.

But I slept and at ice cream and watched 'The Family Stone' and some other movie that I can't remember. I passed out at about 10:30ish and didn't wake up until 9 this morning. I actually surived the day without napping, which again is a big plus from the past two days of me drooling on myself and being miserable.

The nieces came over and were a whirlwind of child like flurry. Annie looked fantastic and the girls just as cute as ever. Annalisa loved her Carebear and the bubble wrap that surrounded a serving plate that Annie game me. Valentina hated her shoes, like normal, and clung to Daddy and her new piggy from her Auntie Kate.

Mom got my a fantastic pooka-dot comforter for my bed with sheets and pillow cases and a pj set which matches. I also got a really nice hand crafted earring holder from Brandon, VT and a jewelry amore. Got my yearly Ani from Aunt Jeanie ('Like I Said: Songs from 1990 - 1991' and 'Reveling / Reckoning'). Aunt Jeanie also seems to be concerned with me breaking down and got me car kits. Not entirely sure why the newfound concern with my car breaking down*, but there is now a nifty shiny blanket thing that reflects my body heat back at me.

Aunt Jeanie LOVED the candle light thing** and she took it out and was trying to make it work until Uncle Eddie pointed out that filling ti with water at our house might not be the best idea.

Kathy was really excited about the two Beatles albums I got for her, plus the bath set. I'm really happy that she came out today, what with this being the second Christmas since Harry, her husband, passed away. Plus she brought cheesecake and poundcake and cookies. Hmm. It was good deserts at the house this year!

Talked to my cousin Crystal who got engaged today to her long term boyfriend Serigo (hope I spelled that right!) who is from Portugal. She isn't sure of when they are actually tying the knot (hello, engaged today!), but she says that it'll be a few years yet.

She did however say that she'd like to come out in February for a long weekend. Though if that'll actually happen remains to be seen, but she knows she has a place to stay with me with people more her age. Which reminds me that I need to email her.

And done.

I'm beat and I think my NyQuil is starting to kick in. But I refuse to go to sleep until all the CDs I got are ripped. Only one more after this one, which means sleepy time for me.

I'm currently listening to one of my first loves, Alan Jackson. I didn't realize how much that I missed listening to his soft sound.

Hmmm southern drawls are wonderful sometimes.

Yeah, this girl is getting dippy, which means she should either a) continue typing for everyone else's enjoyment or b) crash.

Tomorrow (can you see I chose a) I'm heading next door for kiddle lovin', out to lunch with the parent folk for Dad'd birthday, Borders to return a CD that I already had (Alan Jackson's Greatest Hits) and then home. I'm meeting up with
starseed128somewhere to do something that might include some sort of food, possibly something to drink (because I've been sick and I should have booze this trip damnit!) and maybe, just maybe for old times sake, a trip to Target (I swear, I kidding about the last one!)

Okay it appears that my CDs are done ripping, which means sleepy time for me.

Yaaaay.

* It could be in light of the journalist who died after leaving his family in a car on a lonely mountain road.

** She has two African Grays and they can't light candles anymore, but she misses the candles so this made a perfect gift.
