Narnia!
The first trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has been released and can be found here at this link.
Umm...okay? This trailer is kind of weird. I do like the design of the ship, and I think a lot of the shots in the trailer look cool, but...shouldn't there be something about the actual story? Yes, I already know what the story is, but I've read the books. I'm not sure I'd know what I was watching in this trailer if I hadn't read the books. Actually, never mind, I still don't know what I'm looking at. Why is there so little of Eustace? Why isn't there very much of Caspian? Why is Edmund sounding like Peter did during the last film? Why are Peter and Susan in the trailer? Why is the White Witch in the trailer (again!)? (I love Tilda Swinton's portrayal, but her character died two films ago. Let her go.) Why are there so many vague, general-fantasy film lines in the trailer? Why is there an annoying voice-over? Why is there annoying and vague taglines?
I do like the shininess. I think the Dawn Treader is gorgeous, and the film may be awesome. But why is the trailer so strange?
