How did There Will Be Brawl make me cry bitch tears over the original Pokemon opening theme? What the hell.

Anyway, There Will Be Brawl is kind of like the horrific fusion of Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Watchmen, except it actually works. I normally don't like Darker and Edgier takes on stuff, but There Will Be Brawl somehow fits in the few things of that genre I like (SUP A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE) because it is simultaneously funny and kind of horrifying. (And, recently, depressing as hell.) Seriously, there's some pretty nightmarish stuff in there, so... Fae, if you decide to watch it, I WARNED YOU. (It also has some non-explicit sex, so that is a warning not to watch it at work or anywhere you could get in trouble for it.)

It's awesome if you're a Nintendo fan because part of the fun is seeing what weird shit the writers do with the characters. Bowser is fucking awesome, Red is adorable and I want to take him hooome, Kirby is the stuff of nightmares, Olimar is also the stuff of nightmares, and Ganondorf-

Ganondorf is pretty.

Um.

B-black leather gloves and a black shirt and suspenders hnnnngh ♥

Also uh freaking Kyle Herbert plays Wario. As you can see, he has some pretty interesting credentials.

Anyway, it's obviously pretty low budget, but it adds to the campiness of the funny bits and, strangely, doesn't detract from the serious stuff. The plot is pretty sweet, too. I don't want to talk about it too much, because I read up on it on TVTropes and while that didn't negatively affect my experience you might want to go in not knowing what to expect.
