OK, I have been keeping up with this whole snafu about the Pope and remarks he made about Islam during a speech at a university. This whole situation was confusing, so I decided to read the speech before I made anymore judgements on the matter than I already had....

Yay for hypocrisy!!

As I stated due to my history class... "Medieval Muslim = the cool! Modern Muslim = the suck!"

Anti-religionist in general though. We sometimes referred to Pope Benedict (Roman numeral here) as the Grand Inquisitor...

I had to spend all day listening to the news, and to be honest, after awhile I was wishing they would cut back to Anna Nicole Smith's dead son's autopsy findings, because there was only so much hypocrisy I could take. They take three or four sentences out of an hour long lecture and decide that the Pope must be killed because he spoke ill of Islam, never mind that he was quoting, and completely missing the point of Islam trying to convert through violence.

(Don't you think demanding the death of the Pope is going to alienate all 500 million Catholics out there, who already dislike you? Take a page out of the Torah and ignore it when people make fun of you for having to carry a placemat for a clean place to pray every four hours. The Jews have been surviving bigotry a lot longer than you asshats and they're a hell of a lot politer about it.)

It's pretty lame. Maybe the Muslims are frustrated because the Pope can so easily make the news, but they mostly seem to get covered only when they're outraged over something new.
