a great time

So I've been up here at school while my lovely roommates are home. Just been spending some awesome time with Stephanie. I gotta say, it's been totally fantastic to say the least. Yesterday, we spent a good portion of the day running errands. You'd think this would be boring, but hell no. It was so much fun! I took her to the ATM, to the apartments (so she could pay her security deposit and stuff), and we even stopped so she could get her hair trimmed. She usually does her own haircuts, but it's difficult for her to trim all of it properly. She does an awesome job at cutting/styling her own hair. I honestly think she has the best looking hair on any girl I know. I give her mucho credit for cutting it herself. Looks beautiful. Anyway, after all the errands and such, we just drove around. Exploring is fun. I had one of the best days I can remember yesterday, just driving around in random directions and seeing the sights. We went to this awesome place... a creepy old run-down mental institution. But it was so surreal, because this huge looming structure was surrounded by beautiful green plants and vines. Sunlight was streaming through the trees in random spots, making the whole place look very fantasy-like. There was an overgrown fountain the the front lawn, which looked very very cool. I don't know... I guess it's difficult to explain. I loved going there though. Creepy/beautiful is how I'd describe it. Other than that, we simply drove around aimlessly. I loved it.

Today we mostly hung around and enjoyed eachother's company. I took her to her appointment with the academic advisor for education, which was a nice time. We had ice cream cones today, too. We went down to eat dinner in the cafeteria, but for some unknown reason it was closed like an hour early. So later on, we just went to KFC and enjoyed some of the best fast food chicken available. No complaints. We also rescheduled some of our classes based on what the academic advisor said. I still have my appointment with her on Monday though.

We've been having our usual Tetris championships, but in addition, we've lately been having Snood championships as well. I must say, I was a Snood skeptic at first... but it's grown on me. Anyway, Snood is this computer game that's basically a lot like Bounce Out (I think that's the one...). It makes for a fun time.

I think now is a good time to mention that I am a Salad Fingers fanatic. I love the guy. As a matter of fact, I think ALL the cartoons by David Firth are nothing short of awesome. I highly highly suggest that EVERYONE go to www.fat-pie.com and click on "cartoons". Then, get ready to enjoy some badass flash cartoons. One of them, of course, being Salad Fingers. Aside from that, I especially love the Spoilsbury Toast Boy series and the Sock series. Burnt Face Man has a special place in my heart also. Oh, and make sure to watch the Valentine's Day cartoon... great one that is.

Well with that, I'm off. Music has been going very well lately, with new albums by Elefant and The Dresden Dolls just released. The Stills have a new album coming out in a week or two also. Needless to say, I'm very excited.

Oh, and I'm not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but we've officially signed our lease for our apartment. We'll be moving in August 1st, and I am quite excited. I went and checked out my actual apartment yesterday, and it turns out we're on the second floor. Which at first I was kinda disappointed, but now that I think about it I'm happier. Why? I like looking out second floor windows more. True story.

Ok kids, check out www.fat-pie.com . See ya!

"Birds Vs. Worms" by Modest Mouse

Self pity me so pitiful
You can see that birds and worms don't get along
Self righteous me so wrong
You can see that we don't have to get along
Self pity me so pitiful
You can see that birds and worms do not agree
And we will crawl

Hmm... I wonder why I put that song in my entry?... Interesting.
