RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE IS GETTING BACK TOGETHER!

"Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello told MTV.com on Friday (February 2nd) that the band is reuniting and headlining this year's Coachella Festival "to deliver a knockout blow to the Bush administration." Morello added, "Is it coincidence that in the seven years that Rage Against The Machine has been away that the country has slid into right-wing purgatory? I think not. It occurred to all of us that the times were right to see if we can knock the Bush administration out in one fell swoop, and we hope to do that job well."

Although it's doubtful that one rock concert could bring down a presidency, Morello is more realistic as well, saying, "This administration has done enough damage that it may take generations to undo. This is an administration that believes it's beyond the laws of the land, which is fine for emperors, but not so great for presidents. One thing this president isn't above is the laws of physics, and there is no action without reaction. And we're part of that reaction."

Morello also said in the interview, which strangely disappeared from MTV's web site shortly after it was posted, that Rage has not ruled out future plans beyond Coachella.
Rage broke up in 2000 after three studio albums, one collection of covers and one live set.
Rage will be joined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bjork as headliners at the eighth annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for April 27th, 28th and 29th at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Rage will close out the event on the 29th.
Morello's other band, Audioslave, released its third studio album, Revelations, last fall, but has been on a hiatus while singer Chris Cornell records a new solo effort. Morello is also recording his first CD as political folk alter ego the Nightwatchman."

Apparently this has been out there since the 2nd but this is the first I heard of it. I nearly wet myself when I hear it. I just heard this morning that Audioslave broke up and I did a little happy dance at the thought that Rage might reunite. Then I hear about this, holy shit if I'm not happy. I really want to be at that concert. Lets hope they make another album and go on tour. I want to see them live so bad.
