Coronarse or Morir's information about the ep Episode Comments - (with a very quick, quick recap)
Paco takes Dani, Lis and a newly 'healed' Povedilla to the school where the cannibal's mother says he endured a horrific trauma at 8 years old: all his friends burned to death, trapped in his burning room. Lis is freaked, and refuses to go in, so Dani stays outside with her while Povedilla and Paco go inside. Povedilla encounters a huge dog that no one else sees, and Paco becomes more and more overwhelmed with the evil in the place.
Dani and Lis encounter the handyman, who patches up Dani's ole bullet wound and tells them that someone had trapped the kids inside. He reveals to Povedilla there is no dog. Paco and the group go back inside and encounter more horror. They find an old movie that the little boy left, in which he is tortured by an unseen student. A hanging goat. The dead cannibal's mother, dressed as a nun. Dani's wound opens inexplicably and won't stop bleeding.
Povedilla freaks out, claims the house is haunted and confesses he made up the wound and the limp beacuse he was scared. He apologizes to the kids and then confronts his fears when the big dog chases him. He wills the dog to go away, but then sees a figure in one of the windows.
Paco goes to find help, but then a big earthquake hits and when he returns, Dani is gone. He thinks everyone is dead and goes to the church to pray. In reality, Lis has dragged Dani to the nurse's station, where she confesses to him what a tool she is (seriously!) and then helps him stop the bleeding in his leg.
Meanwhile, someone tries to break into the room where Paco is, but it's just Povedilla. They find a frightened woman who is about to be sacrificed. Just as they try to cut her down, the man comes. Paco tells Povedilla to take the girl out and he begins to pray and encircle himself in a circle of blood and holy water to prepare to face him. The man breaks in and goes behind him, whispering in his ear that he's early and that Satan is the one who will save him, not the opposite. He reveals himself - it's the Cannibal.
Paco wakes up the next morning, alone and unharmed. He stumbles down to the projector room, and watches as he realizes that the Cannibal was actually twins.
NEXT WEEK - The exact same time frame, but now we're catching up with what happens at the precinct, which means PEPA. Also, Aitor volunteers to finish Pepa's assassination, so she won't have to.
Rating: B-
Okay, I figured out why this Pacos feels wrong to me. It's not because of Pepa. I actually think they're capturing her grief and loss very well. It's Paco. Paco isn't the same guy he was. They took this bumbly, adorable teddy bear with a heart of gold and turned him into this... obsessive kinda jerk.
I mean, I get it? Thinking you're the only guy who can stop Satan has gotta be a downer, but seriously, you'd ignore one of your young officers bleeding to death? Really?
Povedilla is what grounds this episode. As usual, he's just fantastic, and I missed him int he last two episodes. But I really wish they would wrap up this satanic storyline soon. It's just TOO dark, and none of what makes the Paco's really great - working together, being a family, trusting each other, is shining through.
That said, I didn't find Dani annoying this episode. Getting on Povedilla's good side, and almost bleeding to death does work wonders, I think.
