He remembers the light.
He remembers the laughter and love that was a part of that light.
He remembers that he lost the light in a splash of blood and a flash of lightning.
Then there was only grief, and the deep rage that swiftly followed.
He doesn’t remember the faces of the men that he killed.
He doesn’t remember the pain as the bullets tore into his flesh.
He doesn’t remember falling to the ground as his life drained away into the snow.
All he remembers is the light.
Only the memories are fading, slowly being swallowed by the darkness that now surrounds him.
Soon there will only be the darkness, and the rage that still consumes him.
Even now in death.
