The remaining residents of the entire military dependents village, including my grandparents, were moved to these apartment blocks. Thinking about concentrating the entire community into such a small area boggles my mind.
My old elementary school. There used to be large rice paddies behind the school. Now they are all paved over by a highway along with commercial and condo developments. The school itself also changed quite a bit. The old classroom buildings were demolished and rebuilt. Very little of my childhood memory remained. The only part of the school unchanged is that tree and garden in the middle.
The rice paddies are ever disappearing as the highway snakes its way across the mountain, bringing with it development and concrete jungle.
