some thoughts...
i was thinking about a lot of stuff the other night...thought i would share.
God's job is not to plan out our lives for us. i think that too often,we forget that it's not about us. it's all about God. we always pray things like,"please show me what to do in this situation...show me your will in this...tell me what to do next...." don't get me wrong,i know we should always trust in God to help us through tough times-i just think we look to God too much as our life-planner/coordinator. but the whole reason that God even has a plan for us is ultimately to give Him glory. i think that a lot of people tend to feel that God made us,so He gave us our own lives to live on this earth and everything that exists is there for us...and everything we have is ours. but nothing is ours. this just made me realize that that's the reason we need to live for God...if we aren't,what are we living for?? this world is going to fade-don't forget that there is an eternity. ETERNITY is a long time. one day,we're going to get to heaven...don't you want to have actually done something to make your life WORTH being lived? i mean,i know i forget about this all the time...cause i get so caught up in life. caught up in things that won't even MATTER in eternity. what is going to matter is how we lived our lives,how we honored God,what we did for His kingdom,our realtionships with people..and our realtionship with God.
so i'm going to go back to this...it all belongs to God,and if we're Christians,we belong to HIM. that's why we need to honor God with what we do to our bodies. why let so much filth go into something that God created,and purposed to be holy? so many people feel like smoking,drugs,and alchohol are no big deal-even christians. it bothers me that so many people just feel the need to have that connection with world. especially the ones who don't even have the intention of getting high,drunk,or stoned..but they do it because they can,because it's "fun". even then,no one is strong enough to do any of that just "occasionally",and not eventually..somewhere down the road..get hooked on something. so why do they do it?? NONE of that satisfies!! it's just chasing things that will bring you down the more you pursue them. why not pursue something that will lift you up and SATISFY you? God created us with the need for that satisfaction. He made a hole in our hearts that only He can fill, and no matter how hard we try to fill it with something else,we just can't.
well i felt like God kind of laid that on my heart to share. maybe it helped at least someone,but most of this is just stuff that i need to constantly remind myself. i'm just glad we have such an awesome God who no matter how caught up we get in the insignificant happenings of our own lives,still loves us more than we could ever know..and waits for us to come back & find our satisfaction in Him.
